this song is P Ramlee's first song to glory and fame. in this song, he's describing to us the appearance of his first love, Azizah when he was in Penang, his birth place. due to restrictions by Azizah's parents and P Ramlee's dreams to be a popular artist, their love story ends there and then. (i personally love the lyrics)

i know this is like sssssllloooowwwww.. but TAADDAA!! the P Ramlee Musical @ Esplanade. a blast and a bomb with a grenade seh. so fun. watched it with one of my close fren. and me being the 'jakun' i was stunned for words ogling and admiring the theatre hall. its pretty lah. entering that place makes me feel like im attending some world class, well recognised concerts. super posh..best giler nye. =)
exec producer: tiara jacquelina (she's the main character in Puteri Gunung Ledang) there were 3 schedules and we chose the show on the final day. and being the last day performing, all the theatre activists gave in their heart and soul to the performance. super semangat ok!
it lasted for abt 2.5 hrs with a 15 min intermission. the entire musical describes P Ramlee's everchanging life evolving around the 4 women that he had loved and love. his first love, Azizah. his 1st wife- Junaidah. divorced. 2nd wife- Norizan. divorced. finally, Saloma. personally, all the performers in the show are all well talented and passionate even though they only appeared in back drops. hehe. its quite a roller coaster full of emotions and tensions watching the show. you will feel like you're witnessing the real life of P. Ramlee infront of u with the main actor really looking like the late P.Ramlee. for the benefits of those who dont know who is P. Ramlee, he was was a Malaysian film actor, director singer and songwriter. his beautiful pieces has found its way into people's hearts and even now, his black and white directed shows are loved by many,be it the young or the old.
so, he was and is very well known across the region.
the three main characters that i loooveee... =) Emelda Rosmila as Azizah Musli Ramli as P Ramlee Liza Hanim as Saloma (she relive the primadona role) ;)
Emelda is seriously sweet. i was ogling at her all the time for the 3 initial scenes ok. hehe One of my favorite scene that i adored is the 2nd scene, the Penang song where the performers are dancing and singing with their own costumes and props that actually brought you to Penang in amidst. For those who watched the musical, i'm sure its one of the unforgettable show shown in Esplanade itself.
